My practice focuses on land use and real estate issues in Northern Virginia. My practice includes representing national, regional and local companies and developers in all areas of land use, including the development of large-scale, mixed-use communities and traditional residential, office, retail and hotel projects.
I advise clients at all stages of the land planning and development process, including zoning approvals, special-use permits, and comprehensive plan amendments, as well as identifying potential state and federal concerns, including the application of Virginia's public-private partnership laws. I also advocate for clients in presentations to concerned community organizations, the local media, and in working with various local governments.
Prior to starting my own firm, I worked for 14 years at McGuireWoods LLP and also served as an urban planner for the Portland International Airport in Portland, Oregon.
